Arkansas's North Fork River
( Norfork Tailwater )
Though not very long in length, only 4.8 miles the Norfork tailwater's boast more trout per mile than anywhere in  the United States.  It is home to enormous Brown's and Rainbow that resemble over-sized footballs more than they do fish.  The Brookies and Cutthroat are nothing to overlook either.  If you have ever heard of the Arkansas Grand Slam, this is the place to get it.  The Arkansas Grand Slam is when you catch a rainbow, brown, brook and cutthrout trout on the same day in the same water.

There are three main access points to the North Fork River, at the dam, at McClellen's and at the Ackerman River Ridge walk-in access.  McClellen's is a private access and there is a $ 3.00 fee per person.

There is one Catch & Release area on the Norfork tailwaters.

When visiting the North Fork River don't forget to bring the kids or grandkids to fish Dry Run Creek.
